Sandra Sue Johnson, 72, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at her residence. Sue was born in Haveco, W.Va., to the late Bluford Horton and Beatrice Lexie Creed Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her cat of 17 years, Buddy the Cat.
Sue had retired from the Carter County School System as a special education teacher. She was a member of Valley Forge United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening and being a part of the quilting bee club at her church.
Survivors include one brother, Ronald Johnson and wife Krista and one nephew, Jeremy Johnson, all of Fort Worth, Texas, and one niece, Roni Rene Johnson-Herring and husband John and their children, Emma Herring, Caedon Herring and Grace Herring, all of Prosper, Texas.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, February 8, at the residence. There will be a private disposition at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.tetrickfuneralhome.com and signing the guest book.
