Mrs. Viva Tolley, who was born August 22, 1923, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Tolley was a lifelong resident of Carter County, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Waits Tolley, and a son, Jamie Tolley.
Survivors include three daughters, Roberta Pierson, Judy Tolley and Frances Tolley, and two sons, Waits Daniel Tolley and William Tolley. Several grandchildren, a great-grandson, Jackson Scott Campbell, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Viva Tolley will be conducted at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with a grandson, Ozzy Thompson, officiating. Active pallbearers will be Leo Yates, Ernest Tolley, Brandon Campbell, William Tolley, Shon Pierson and Tyler Pierson. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Beverly, Edward Begley, Waits Daniel Tolley and Harold Jones. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter, 135 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
