Noe Earl Campbell

Noe Earl Campbell, 68, of Hickory, N.C., went to sleep Wednesday, February 25, 2015, and awoke in Heaven in a new glorified body, able to breath in the sweet savor.
Mr. Campbell was the son of Viola Gross and the late Samuel Campbell. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lorrianne Ward, and his step-father, Anderson Gross.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Mellon Campbell. They were blessed with three children, Donna Brock and husband Willis of Elizabethton, Eugene Campbell and wife Kim of Roan Mountain, and Sheila Simerly and husband Jason of Roan Mountain; eight grandchildren, Logan Brock, who was not only his grandson but his best friend, and Logan’s companion, Katie Gardner, Brooke Brock, Peyton Brock, Breezy Brock, Anthony Campbell, David Campbell, Hailey Simerly and Kate Lynn Simerly; a great-grandson, Cayden Gardner; and a special nephew, James Ward Jr.
Earl traveled the country as a long-haul truck driver for 42 years. He was known as “Evel Knievel” to the hundreds of friends he made over the years. He shared the last 17 of these years with his two beloved dogs, Blackie and Andy.
A memorial service for Earl will be held Sunday, March 1, at Harmony Free Will Baptist Church in Hampton. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. with the service to follow. Pastor Brandon Young will officiate. Music will be provided by William Birchfield, Dara Young and the Harmony Free Will Baptist Church Choir.
