Phyllis Ann Grindstaff

Phyllis Ann Grindstaff, 74, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the home of her son, following a brief illness. She was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Roy Allen and Evelyn Taylor Souder.
Mrs. Grindstaff had worked as a machine operator for North American Rayon Corporation and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin Grindstaff, daughter, Debra Cochran and husband, Tim, and a son, Terry Simerly and wife, Jamie, all of Elizabethton; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Several special friends also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Grindstaff will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, in the Ensor Cemetery with Mr. Greg Key, minister, officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Hal Lyons, Jeffery DeLoach, John Bare and Owen Grindstaff. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Nannie Morris, Helen Buckles, Mountain States Hospice nurses, especially Greg Matney, CNAs, and Pamela Burdett for the love and care given to Mrs. Grindstaff and her family during her illness.
