Ina Mae Hyder Estep

Ina Mae Hyder Estep, 90, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after a brief illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Blanche Grindstaff Hyder.
Ina was a 1942 graduate of Unaka High School where she played on the Lady Ranger Basketball Team. She worked as a Lab Technician at St. Elizabeth Hospital, prior to going to work for Dr. Dillard Sholes and Dr. Cone. She worked there for 35 years.
Ina was the oldest living member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan H. Estep, who died in 1995; a son, the Rev. Richard H. “Dick” Estep, who died in 2014; two brothers, James H. and Clifford Hyder; and a sister-in-law, Lillian Hyder.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Danette and Doug Hardin; her daughter-in-law, Jan Estep; four grandchildren, Jeff (Sherri) Hardin, Lance Estep, Stephanie (Donald) Ensor and Shannon (Christy) Estep; and 10 great-grandchildren, Sarah, John-Wesley, Jesse and Rebekah Hardin, Brandi, Davy and Daniel Ensor, Aaron, Carissa and Jacob Estep. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services for Mrs. Estep will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in the Grindstaff Cemetery with the Rev. David Foster officiating. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home after noon Wednesday and Thursday morning. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website at www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
