Landon Grindstaff

Landon Grindstaff, 82, of Elizabethton, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. He was the son of the late Clayton and Dora Stout Grindstaff and was born in Elizabethton.
Mr. Grindstaff was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Grindstaff, of the home; two daughters, Debra Nave and husband Daniel and Pamela Lunceford and husband Sheriff Dexter Lunceford; a son, Eric Grindstaff and wife Johnie; five granddaughters, Ashlee Carmack and husband Josh, Tessa Lunceford, Jessica Lunceford, Ericka Gamble and husband Rony, and Amber Grindstaff; two grandsons, Nathaniel Grindstaff and Jonathan Grindstaff; three great-grandchildren, Roman, Logan and Veronica Gamble; and two sisters, Frances Taylor and Jettie Grindstaff. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. A graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Grindstaff will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 13, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Raymond Smith, Fane Bowers, Jimmy Eggers, Chris Bowers, Josh Carmack, Norman Peters, Roscoe Peters and Rony Gamble. Honorary pallbearers will be Willard Peters, Jack Kletcher, Russell Peters, his friends, neighbors, and his friends at the Barn. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 10:15 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
