Jessie James Clawson

Jessie James Clawson, 57, of Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015, at the residence of his sister and brother-in-law, Trissia and Ronnie Nave, Jonesborough, after an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Byrd and Mabel Mitchell Clawson.
Mr. Clawson was a construction worker. He was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Clawson.
Survivors include a brother, John Clawson, Johnson City; four other sisters, Susie Dishner and husband Bill and Patsy Presnell and husband Dean, all of Johnson City, Pauline Julian and husband Lester, Elizabethton, and Shirley Sanford and husband Rusty and their son, Ethan, Hampton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Clawson will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dean Presnell officiating. Music will be provided by Mike Presnell. Interment will follow in the Johnson Cemetery (Crabtree Community), Roan Mountain. Active pallbearers will be John Clawson, Ronnie Nave, Chris Julian, Jason Julian, Rusty Sanford and Lester Julian. Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Julian and T.J. Campbell. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Mountain States Hospice and his sister and brother-in-law, Trissia and Ronnie Nave, for the excellent care Jessie received.
