A woman killed in a motorcycle accident in Carter County on Monday has been identified by law enforcement officers investigating the accident.

McCloud was riding a red 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan northbound on Highway 91 with another motorcycle at the time of the accident, Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Brad Proffitt said.

“For reasons unknown, she crossed the roadway, laid the motorcycle down and slid into the side of the car,” he said.

As the motorcycle slid across the road, it struck a green 1995 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight that was traveling southbound and being driven by Zachary Julian, 20, of Roan Mountain. Julian was treated on scene for minor injuries by the Carter County Rescue Squad.

McCloud was transported by the CCRS to a local hospital where she was later declared deceased.

A report released on Tuesday by the THP said neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as contributing factors to the crash. No charges or citations were issued in connection with the accident.
