Kenneth Wayne Hartley, 51, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital, Lenoir, N.C., after an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late William Bailey and Delane Hartley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Bailey.
Prior to his illness, he worked in the Masonry business. He attended the Full Gospel Holiness Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Pansy Slagle and husband Joseph, Elizabethton, and Teresa Williams, Wilkesboro, N.C.; a brother, Jimmy Lynn Ward and wife Shirley, Elizabethton; and four aunts, Helen Hartley, Jean Mitchell, Jonesborough, Kathy Norris and husband Junior of North Carolina, and Carolyn Hartley, Elizabethton. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Kenneth Wayne Hartley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Brother Johnny Persinger and Brother Jessie Hartley officiating. Interment will follow in the Lyons Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Eric Guy, Joshua Slagle, Peter Lloyd, Jeff Stines, Jimmy Johnson and Jamie Hartley.
