Johnnie Michelle Wingfield, 39, of Elizabethton, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015. She was born in Johnson City on November 19, 1975 but lived a number of years in Elizabethton before moving to Richmond, Va.
Johnnie was a 1994 graduate of Elizabethton High School and attended East Tennessee State University. She moved back to Elizabethton 10 years ago. She attended the Fountain of Life Bible Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Edward Hatley.
Survivors include her husband, Steven Howard Johnson; a daughter, Gracie Michelle Wingfield, Elizabethton; her mother, Barbara Owens Blanchard, Elizabethton; two step-fathers, Donnie Lee Hatley, Kingsport, and Denver Grover Campbell, Elizabethton; a sister, Dennise D. Jones, Elizabethton; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Chris Barnett and Greg and Carol Johnson; her nieces, Mercedes Barnett and Haley Johnson; her nephew, Nicholas Johnson; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Penny Johnson.
Funeral services for Johnnie Michelle Wingfield will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Greg Largent officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehead Cemetery, Butler. Active pallbearers will be Jessie Lomeli, Rick King, Brian Johnson, Chuck Johnson, Allen Herbert and Gerald Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Blake King, Chris Barnett and Robert Edwards. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
