Hassie Holder Hodge Hall, 92, Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Carter County and a daughter of the late Kenny and Rosie Roberts Holder.
Mrs. Hall enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, sewing and going to church. She was a faithful member of Green Mountain Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Hodge; her second husband, Leroy Hall; a son, Larry Hodge; a daughter, Linda Crabtree; two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include her children; Imogene Hodge, Elizabethton, Earlene Ellis and husband Kermit, Jonesborough, Mary Hembree and husband Don, Johnson City, Louise Phillips and husband Steve, Elizabethton, Gary Hodge and wife Tina, Butler, Terry Hodge and wife Kenya, Elizabethton; a special daughter-in-law, Becky Hodge; five step-children, Brenda Leonard, Wilma Dugger, Bruce Hall, Steve Hall and Michael Hall; a sister, Ruby Lyons, Morganton, N.C., 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Hassie Holder Hodge Hall will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Estel Tipton, the Rev. Danny Blevins and the Rev. Arnold Hensley officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, in the Lyons Cemetery. Music will be provided by Jill Fender, Rachel, Kayla and LeAnn Scharberg and Melissa Stapleton. Active pallbearers will be Terry, Gary, Brian, Earl and Micah Hodge, Mark Hembree, Don Hembree Jr. and Zachary Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Green Mountain Free Will Baptist Church. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. Jeff Hopland and the staff of Amedisys Hospice. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
