Mary Belle (Buck) Orr

Mary Belle (Buck) Orr, 87, Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. A native of the Shell Creek Community of Roan Mountain in Carter County, she was the daughter of the late William David and Ada Ray Hoss Buck.
Mrs. Orr was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and the Duard Aldridge Sunday School Class. She worked as a secretary for Clutch and Brake Supply in Johnson City for over 20 years.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William Brownlow Orr; seven sisters, Florence Wolfe, Wilma Farmer, Juanita Arnett, Geneva Richardson, Eleanor McKinney, Edna Buck and Ruth Cordell; and four brothers, James Buck, Eddie Buck, William David Buck Jr. and Vernon Buck.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, William David Orr and his wife Diane Underwood Orr of Alpharetta, Ga., and Philip Kent Orr and his wife Jennifer Torbett Orr of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Jennifer Orr McGuffey and her husband Jeffrey William McGuffey of Cincinnati, Ohio, William Andrew Orr and his wife Elizabeth Lowery Orr of Greenville, S.C., and Ashley Lauren Orr of Alpharetta, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Hunter William McGuffey and Ansley Byington Orr; brother-in-law John Orr and his wife Phyllis of Roan Mountain, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jessie Street of Johnson City, Tenn., Mrs. Ruth Honeycutt of Happy Valley, Tenn., and Mrs. Francis Tatum of Elk Park, N.C.; and many much loved nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to Patty Love, her caregiver, for the loving care given to Mrs. Orr.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, Johnson City, with Pastor Gerald Casson officiating. The family will receive friends to share memories at the church from 6 p.m. until the service at 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at Orr/Hampton Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Attendees are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Active pallbearers will be Larry McKinney, Gary McKinney, Herbert Hoilman, Dickie Street, Douglas Richardson, Dean Torbett, Drew Orr and Jeff McGuffey. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Hartman, David Buck, Todd Buck, Ritchie Buck, Wes Sluder, Patty Love, Ruby Parker, Janie Torbett, Peggy Underwood, Bennie Hoilman and Judy Sluder.
