Jack Richard Pearman, 85, of Central Community, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late B. Jack and Leone Roberson Pearman.
Jack was a 1947 graduate of Happy Valley High School and a graduate of East Tennessee State College. He was employed in various positions with the Carter County School System for 59 years. He was also employed with the Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency for several years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict where he received honors. He was of the Christian Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Randolf, and a sister, Janie.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, June Edwards Pearman; his children, Richard Pearman and wife Dawn, Mars Hill, N.C., David Pearman and wife Katie, Johnson City, and daughter, Shari, Johnson City; his grandchildren, Jason, Josh and Elsa; his brother, Jerry Pearman and wife Kaye, Johnson City; and several nieces and many friends including special friends, Earlene Marshall and Lois Smith.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be conducted Tuesday, May 26, at 1 p.m. at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Stephen Payne officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m., will be Dallas Williams, Josh Pearman, Jason Pearman, Brad Tipton, Steve Shupe and Frank Jarrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Maxwell, Butch Adkins, Harry Sisk, Andy O’Neil and Alan Collins. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday. Condolences to the family may be sent to our website at www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
