Mary Slagle

Mary Slagle, 84, of Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mary was born in Jefferson County, Ala., a daughter of the late Marvin and Vera Brown Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Slagle was a homemaker and a member of Heartland Fellowship Church. She enjoyed gardening and singing, but her greatest joy was her family.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Slagle, of the home; a son, Marvin Slagle and wife Sara, Elizabethton; a daughter, Deborah Lynn Szymanski and husband Joe, of Illinois; her grandchildren, Rachel Pearson and husband Craig, Johnson City, Tenn., Kevin Slagle and wife Kim, Elkhart, Ind., Angela Moore and husband William, Chicago, Ill., and Nichole Heck and husband Jonathan, Talbott, Tenn.; and her great-grandchildren, Perry, Rayanna, Jonas, Riley and William. Several nieces, nephews and many precious friends also survive.
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Mary Slagle will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, May 29, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Marvin Slagle officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, or at the residence at anytime. The graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at Washington County Memory Gardens with Pastor Travis Carter officiating. Active pallbearers will be Craig Pearson, Perry Pearson, Jonathan Heck, Kevin Slagle, Joe Szymanski and Marvin Slagle. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Reece and Alexi Khoury. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 9:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession.
