Ray Williams

Ray Williams, 77, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
A native of Asheville, N.C., he was the son of the late Charles Raymond Williams Sr. and Estel Williams.
Mr. Williams retired as a P.D.I. with Grindstaff Auto. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran during the Korean Conflict, serving as a bomber pilot.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mack Williams.
Survivors include six sons, Lewis Williams, Christopher Williams and Michael Williams, all of Greenville, S.C., Warren Van Williams, Johnson City, Tenn., Charles R. Williams III, Marion, N.C., and John Joseph Williams, Justin, Texas. Six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Ray Williams will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 11, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Chaplain Gary Knapp officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Thursday.
