Mrs. Nelma Clawson Wagner, 56, of Poga Community, went home to be with her Lord following a long, courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, June 15, 2015, at her home. She was the daughter of the late McKinley and Hazel Arney Clawson and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Steven, John and Michael Wagner.
Mrs. Wagner was retired from N.E.C.X., where she worked as a nurse. She was a member of Bakers Gap Baptist Church and attended Little Milligan Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Paul Wagner, and a son, Matthew Wagner, both of the home, and a brother, Eddie Clawson, Poga Community.
A graveside service for Mrs. Wagner will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, in the Lakeview Cemetery, Little Milligan Community, with Pastor Sammy Icenhour officiating. Active pallbearers will be Shane Pennington, Craig Julian, Bobbie Taylor, Mike Clawson, Shane Clawson, Charles Clawson and Gary Guy. Seth Clawson will be the honorary pallbearer. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet the family at the cemetery at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Sue Prill and the oncology staff of Bristol Regional Medical Center and to the staff of Caris Hospice for their love and care for Mrs. Wagner and the family.
