Floyd Lyons

Floyd Lyons, 86, of Asheboro, N.C., formerly of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015, in Asheboro.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Robert and Annie Lyons.
Mr. Lyons was retired from American Air Filter. He served in the United States Navy. He was a member and Deacon of Beck Mountain Baptist Church, Elizabethton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Wanda Hardin Lyons; three brothers, Albert, Billy and James Lyons; and a sister, Mary Louise Lyons.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lyons; his children, Lloyd Lyons and wife Carolyn, Dennis Lyons and wife Vickie, his daughter, Patti Carden and husband Kenneth, all of Elizabethton; his grandchildren, Darrell Lyons, Tara Irvin, Shane Lyons, Heather Lyons, Ashley Rader and Aimee Slemp; his great-grandchildren, Kayla and Chloe Lyons, Nathaniel and Olivia Irvin, Laken and Levi Lyons; his brothers, Bobby, Vernon and Junior Lyons; and a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glen and Beulah Hardin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of life service for Floyd Lyons will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at Beck Mountain Baptist Church, 2797 Siam Road, Elizabethton, with the Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Interment with Military Honors was in the Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Floyd to the Beck Mountain Baptist Church Building Fund.
