Barbara June Greene, age 73, of Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. A native of Beckley, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Robert Felix Gunnoe, Jr. and the late Marie McKinney Reece. She attended New Life Tabernacle, Johnson City, and First Freewill Baptist Church of Elizabethton. She enjoyed Square Dancing, and loved traveling. She always enjoyed taking care of others.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Greene; brother Bobby Gunnoe, a friend Joe Causby.
Survivors include a son, David Greene and wife Mary Jane, Johnson City; three grandsons, Rick Beck, Elizabethton, Greg Beck and Jesse Greene, both of Johnson City; three brothers, Ronnie Reece, Elizabethton, David Reece and wife Dorothy, Roan Mountain, and Terry Reece, Elizabethton; half sister, Linda Moses, Bluefield, WV. Many Special Friends, nieces and nephews also survive.
The memorial service for Mrs. Greene will be conducted at 7:30 P.M., Monday, July 13, 2015 in the Cranberry Baptist Church, Cranberry, NC with her brother Ronnie Reece officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:30 until 7:30 P.M. at the church.
