Raymond Griffin Tedder, 66, of Roan Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2015.
A native of Carter, Tenn., he was a son of the late Elbert and Mary Grace Watson Tedder and husband of the late Judy Tedder, who passed away on July 14, 2013. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Bobbie Shook and Nancy Johnson.
Raymond was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his daughters, Cindy Thompson and husband, Wade, of Elk Park, and Deann Hughes and husband, Jeff, of Roan Mountain, Tenn.; son, Maverick Tedder and wife, August, of Unicoi, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jennifer Blair, Shannon Hicks, Kimberly Noble, Lauren Thompson, Janet Ledford, Daniel Hughes, Bebo Hughes, Nikki Christman and Owen Tedder; great-grandchildren, Madison and Natalie Hicks, Garrett and Mason Johnson, Isaiah and Caleb Ledford, Samuel Hughes and Raina Christman; sister, Lynn Castle of Juneau, Alaska; and brothers, Mickey Tedder of Conover and Lowell Tedder of Elizabethton, Tenn. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 18, in the Elk Park Cemetery with Rev. John McCoury officiating. The family will be gathering at Raymond’s home in Roan Mountain. To send online condolences please visit our website at www.yanceyfuneralservice.com.
