Charles L. “Charlie” Pritchard, 62, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. Charlie was born in Bristol, Va., but had resided in Carter County for the last six years. He was the son of Edna Glover Cole, of Conover, N.C., and the late John Pritchard Jr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Dale and Randy Pritchard and Kim Wise, and a nephew, Brad Markland.
Mr. Pritchard was a graduate of Unaka High School and had worked as a millwright and setting up machinery. He was of the Free Will Baptist faith and loved to fish. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, sports and watching westerns.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include three sisters, Teresa Nidiffer, who was also his caregiver, Lisa Walker and Sharon Bowers, all of Elizabethton; a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Rita Pritchard of Conover, N.C.; and a niece, Kimberly Markland of Elizabethton. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will hold a visitation to celebrate and remember the life of Charles L. “Charlie” Pritchard from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 1, at the residence of his sister, Teresa Nidiffer.
