James Edward Cretsinger, 72, of Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family following a battle with cancer.
He was a native of Elizabethton and a son of the late Lester Fagan Cretsinger and Laura Bingham Cretsinger Manning.
James retired after 30 years with Kiser Supply of Bluff City as a salesman. After retirement, he could be found on his motorcycle or with family and friends.
James is survived by his daughter, Angela Ritenour, and three grandchildren, Cory, Leah and Abby, all of the home.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, August 7, at 6:30 p.m. at Boones Creek Christian Church with Pastor David Clark officiating. His remains will be spread on the Blue Ridge Parkway at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
