Lynda M. Bowman

Lynda M. Bowman, 70, of Watauga, was called home to be with her Lord, Wednesday, August 5, 2015.
A native of Wrexham, North Wales, United Kingdom, she came to America at the age of 2. She grew up in West Virginia and had resided in Elizabethton for the past 35 years. She spent her life as a “Domestic Engineer,” raising her family and helping others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiawatha Lee Clinton and Henrietta Pughe Clinton; two husbands, Wayne Sweeney and Elbert Bowman; a daughter, Joyce Elaine; and three brothers, Mark, Jimmy and Michael Clinton.
Lynda was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church and the Young at Heart Sunday School Class. She loved to quilt, crochet and fix stuffed animals to give to State Troopers for children of domestic violence.
Survivors include her children, Teresa Feger and Tina Kessler, both of Watauga, and Donna Ward, Elizabethton; her brother, David Clinton, Dalzell, S.C.; two grandchildren, Shena Basler, Johnson City, and Tara Brockwell of Indiana; six great-grandchildren, Catlin, Connor, Collin, Mia, Ava and Jace.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Lynda M. Bowman were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 9, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Randy Johnson and Pastor Mark Potter officiating. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence.
