Jeanell Miller Banner, 85, of Mesquite, Texas, formerly of Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Lake Point Medical Center, Rowlett, Texas.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel I. and Hazel Range Miller. She had lived in Texas since March of 2013.
Jeanell was a graduate of Happy Valley High School. She previously had worked at the Bemberg Corporation and retired from Hampton Print Works, Johnson City. Jeanell was a member of Big Springs Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G. Banner, March 26, 2005.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Banner, Raleigh, N.C., and Paul and Barbara Banner, Mesquite, Texas; four grandchildren, Thorin Banner, Lauren Dumas, Katelyn Dumas and Megan Peebles and husband Jimmy; a great-granddaughter, Aubree Zapata; a brother, Clifford Miller, Johnson City; and a sister, Anita Poarch and husband Bert, Orange Park, Fla. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Jeanell Miller Banner will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, September 5, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Robert Allen, minister, officiating. Interment will be in the Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City, Tenn., on Monday, September 7. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
