Edward E. Thompson

Edward E. (Sandy) Thompson, 65, 197 Brown Branch Road, Hampton, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Newland, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Earl & Irene Johnson Thompson. He had lived most of his life in Carter County. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a painter.
Survivors include Three Sons: Brandon E. Thompson and fiancée Brittany, of the home, Shane Davis, Jonesborough and William Joey Perkins and wife Dawn, Elizabethton. Nine Grandchildren: Shaylynn, Brock, Tayven, autumn, Bailee, Chloey, Nathan, Jay and Destiny. One Great Grandson: Jeremiah. Three Sisters: JoAnne Campbell and husband Dick, Susie Jones & Husband Floyd, Roan Mountain, Mary Davis & Husband Tony, Elk Park,. Four Brothers: William Thompson, Hampton, Mike and David Thompson both of Roan Mountain and Stuart Thompson and wife Carrie, Morganton, North Carolina. His very special friends: Brenda & Teddy Hoilman of North Carolina, Jeremy & Becky of Hampton, Keybo Oliver, Hampton and a very special group of young kids from Hampton High School who has stuck with Sandy & Brandon through it all, also Bud & Judy Davis, Elk Park, Cody Madden , Hampton, nine nieces & 12 nephews.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard.
