Families are invited to Kiwanis Park Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to enjoy face painting, inflatables, a dunking booth and other activities.
Lunch will be provided free for kids 12 years and younger and for the first 150 adults between noon and 1 p.m.
This free event, hosted by Northeast Community Credit Union and Elizabethton Parks and Recreation, will also feature a live DJ and a performance by Mr. Bill, a children’s interactive entertainer and balloon artist.
“We greatly appreciate Northeast Community Credit Union for their support and we are very excited about this event and have been looking forward to it for some time,” said Mike Mains, Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Director. “It’s just one of many events this Department has planned over the past several months and we hope families will take advantage of this opportunity by bringing their kids out to a great event in a beautiful park.”
This will be the first Party in the Park at Kiwanis Park, located at the corner of W. G. St. and Carter Boulevard. Mains said the Kiwanis Club has been instrumental in actively improving the park and encouraging its usage.
“We want to do more for our community, so this event is for children to come out and enjoy a day with their families,” said Mains. “We often hear people asking what there is to do in Elizabethton, so we hope the community will take advantage of the many events and activities we have planned this summer like Covered Bridge Jams, Tweetsie events and Party in the Park this weekend.”
