Timothy “Tim” Mottern

Timothy “Tim” Mottern, 64, of Hampton, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at his residence.
Timothy was born January 2, 1951 in Carter County. He was a 1969 graduate of Elizabethton High School and attended East Tennessee State University. He was a carpenter and a member of Brick Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Mottern, and a grandson, Preston Davis.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Deborah Crabtree Mottern; his children, Darkus Bowers and husband Shaun, Hampton, Jamie Davis and husband Casey, Knoxville, Chrystal Ward and husband Rex and Jody Phillips and wife Stacey, all of Elizabethton; his mother, Mildred Mottern Young, Elizabethton; several grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; a sister, Jill Stout and husband Steve, Elizabethton; a brother, Joe Mottern and wife Vickie, Elizabethton; and his special little dogs, Odie and Maddie.
A memorial service for Timothy “Tim” Mottern will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday, September 18, at Brick Christian Church, Watauga, with Mr. Ernie Depew, minister, officiating. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Amedisys Hospice and his family and friends. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence.
