Earl McKinley Marshall

Earl McKinley Marshall, 95, of Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Hillview Health Care Center. Born July 27, 1920 in Russell County, Va., to the late Robert McKinley and Gaynell Wilson Marshall, he had lived in Carter County for 67 years.
Mr. Marshall served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired Brick Mason.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Claude, Clarence and Terry Marshall, and two sisters, Nell Ward and Geraldine Gilbert.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Linda Brewer Marshall; three daughters, Heather Blankenbeckler and husband Charlie and Susan Ferguson, all of Kingsport, and Sheila Hale and husband Lowell, Morristown, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Della Jones and Faye Kegley, both of Lebanon, Va.; and two brothers, Bobby and Carl Marshall, both of Richmond, Va.
A memorial service for Earl McKinley Marshall will be conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday, September 19, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Mottern, Unicoi, and the Rev. Larry Parrott, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Morristown, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service.
