Linda Carol Lunceford

Linda Carol Lunceford, 65, 120 Midnight Drive, Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was a native of Sullivan County but had lived most of her life in Elizabethton.
Mrs. Lunceford was a daughter of the late Jay and Helen Oliver Bowers. She had worked for East Tennessee Undergarments, Levi-Straus Inc. and First Medical Group of Elizabethton.
Mrs. Lunceford was a longtime member of Zion Baptist Church of Elizabethton where she had served as the pianist for many years. She enjoyed scrapbooking, camping and especially spending time with her grandson, Forrest.
Mrs. Lunceford is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Jerry B. Lunceford; her daughter, Joy Caldwell Hall and husband, Ronnie; a grandson, Forrest Hall, all of Elizabethton; eight brothers and sisters, JoAnn Hess and husband, Avery, of Georgia, Betty Brewer, J.C. Bowers and wife, Roberta, all of Elizabethton, Margaret Herman and husband, Tracy, Dorothy Williams and husband, Brent, all of Johnson City, Frank Bowers and wife, Sherrie, of Michigan, Wanda Dougherty and husband, Mike, of Gate City, Va., and James Bowers of Elizabethton; a special friend, Shirley Greenwell; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, September 25, at Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, with Dr. D. Alan King officiating. Special music will be provided by the church choir, Ronnie Hall, Rebecca Osborne and Jayci Bowers. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 p.m. until the service hour, and other times at the home. The graveside committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 26, in the Scalf Cemetery, Smalling Road, Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Lunceford, Ronnie and Forrest Hall, Jeremy and Phillip Nave, James Brewer, Alex Campbell, Todd Bowers and Greg Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and her church family. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the church by 10:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. David and Gloria Fenner, Dr. Jerry Gastineau and Dr. Joseph Lee for the wonderful care they provided.
