“Today we lost our loved one, a chunk of coal turned into a diamond.” Richard Thomas Forrester Sr., 57, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late John Thomas and Louie Dean Stout Forrester.
Mr. Forrester had lived most of his life in Carter County. Prior to his illness, he was a construction worker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Margaret Clawson.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Elisha Thompson Forrester; two children, Jessica Nicole Worthington and Richard Thomas Forrester II; a step-daughter, Misty Turner; a grandson, Ayden Turner; and three sisters, Elizabeth Ann Crump, Dianne Frost and Barbara Jean Marlow.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday, September 25, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Brandon Young officiating. Music will be provided by Brandon and Dara Young. Condolences may be sent to our website: www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
