Roy Lee Powell

Roy Lee Powell, 77, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Stewart and Louise Hill Powell.
Mr. Powell was a construction worker, a partner in the operation of Yates Service Station and an auto dealer. He was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his partner of 34 years, Paula Rogers; a sister and brother-in-law, Norma Jean and Dave Stines, Elizabethton; a brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Betty Jean Powell, Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Roy Lee Powell were conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Lloyd officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Charles Sellers, Grady Hill, Terry Crain and others selected from his friends. The family received friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
