East Tennessee Spay and Neuter will host a yard sale fundraiser 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 2-3 at Tractor Supply, 210 Cherokee Park Drive, to help support its numerous annual programs that assist pet owners.
“Everyhting that we sell — and we have a variety — every penny goes into our programs,” ETSN Executive Director Danika Nazdan said. “These folks depend on us, and they care about their pets.”
ETSN helps people who already have pets and does not help people to get pets who cannot afford it.
ETSN will sell pet supplies, T-shirts, baked goods and more at next weekend’s yard sale. Those in attendance may enter multiple times to win a Bissel Powerswift Pet Vacuum for $1 per try. Winners will be announced at the ETSN HOWLoween Oct. 17.
Elizabethton Carter County Animal Shelter will have pets available for adoption.
People may rent table space and sell their own items or search for fall bargains at other people’s tables. This will be the last yard sale hosted by ETSN this year. Table sapce is $10 for a 6-foot space for one day or $15 for two days. Bring your own table.
Other vendors will be present as well selling shaved ice and deep fried oreos, Rada Cutlery, Origami Owl, baked goods and ETSN T-shirts.
ETSN helps people get their pets spayed at low cost, including those who do not live in Carter County. They also provide food to low-income pet owners who are residents of Carter County may register for the Pet Food Pantry.
“We help the entire community because the best thing for everytbody is to keep these well-loved pets with the families that love them,” said Nadzan. “It’s a whole lot cheaper for us to help feed those animals than for them to go to the shelter.”
The Pet Food Pantry is their most expensive program, feeding nearly 500 pets in Carter County, while operating very affordably at $25-50 per pet each month.
