Harold McCormick Elementary’s Parent Teacher Advisory Council will host its second annual fall festival on Thursday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and a new fundraiser Drive for the Kids presented by Chrysler from 4-8 p.m. Proceeds from both will go toward the purchase of a new sign for the school.
“We’re hoping it will bring families together so parents can spend time with kids, see the classrooms and eat in the cafeteria together,” said PTAC member Holli O’Quinn.
The festival will feature a game or activity in each classroom like putt-putt, fishing, face painting, a cake walk, fingernail painting, toilet paper bowling and more.
Festival tickets are $10 to play each game twice, or attendees may purchase individual game tickets for 50 cents each. Each game costs one ticket. Family passes are available for $20, and tickets are available at the door.
At each game, participants will win prizes, or activity-specific take-home items like a photo at the photo booth.
In the Drive for Kids, attendees with a valid driver’s license may test drive a Chrysler car for $10 from a variety of cars that will be available.
Pizza Hut and Dominos are donating pizzas for purchase to help fund the sign.
If the goal of $10,000 is raised, PTAC will be able to purchase a digital sign on which the school will be able to announce upcoming events and news. A nondigital sign will cost about $7,500.
