Marie Deloach Johnson

Marie Deloach Johnson, 78, of Hampton, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was a daughter of the late James Deloach and Floy Britt Deloach and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson; one daughter, Janet Johnson; one sister, Ruby Simerly; three brothers, John T. Deloach, Carl Deloach and Harold Deloach; and one great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Davis.
Marie was a homemaker and attended Union Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her great-grandson, Kobe.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Wayne Johnson and wife, Bobbie of Hampton; one daughter, Kay Hardin of Hampton; three granddaughters, Dana Guess and April Williams, both of Hampton, and Jennifer Carden and husband, David of Pensacola, Fla.; one grandson, Christopher Johnson of Elizabethton; four great-grandchildren, Kobe Guess, Rylie Hill and Aubrey Collins, all of Hampton, and Kaitlyn Carden of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Juanita Hathaway of Elizabethton; one sister-in-law, Kay Gaston of Forney, Texas; and a special niece and nephews, Trina Deloach and Kenny Deloach, both of Forney, Texas, and Jeff Simerly of Elizabethton.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, at Union Baptist Church. Friends may also call at the residence at other times. A graveside service to honor Marie’s life will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Julian Cemetery with Pastor Doug Ranshaw and Jesse James officiating. Active pallbearers will be Christopher Johnson, Christopher Davis, Kenny Deloach, Jack Ingram, Bill Largent and Randy Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be special friends, Brandy Hightower, Judy Lewis, Jean Blevins and her church family at Union Baptist Church.
