Rose Pearl Humphrey Lowe Patrick

Rose Pearl Humphrey Lowe Patrick, 94, of Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. She was the last survivor of a large family and was a lifelong resident of Carter County. Her parents were the late William “Bill” and Lillie Jane Smith Humphrey.
Mrs. Patrick was a retired employee of Sperry-Univac, Bristol, Tenn. She was a long-time member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Patrick was preceded in death by six brothers, Clyde, Carl, Roy, Ira, Everett and Billie Humphrey, and six sisters, Bessie Humphrey O’Quinn, Alma Humphrey Elliott, Anna Bell Humphrey Cox, Mary Nell Humphrey Messer, Ada Humphrey Hahn and Grace Humphrey Hodge. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Patrick, who died April 15, 2008.
Survivors include one son, William E. Lowe, Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren, Suzanne Weerts of Burbank, Calif., William Lowe Jr. of Lutherville, Md., Marianne Politte of Park Hills, Mo., and Carolanne Rohrs of Los Angeles, Calif.; seven great-grandchildren, Maddie and Jack Weerts, Victoria Lowe, Kegan Cutler, Hannah and Sarah Politte and Loretta Rohrs; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Rose Patrick will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jason Hoagland officiating. Music will be by Willie Horton. Entombment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 1, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Sam Shipley, nephews and neighbors. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to her niece, Virginia Crouse, and her daughter for their many visits and kindness. A heartfelt “Thank You” to the extended staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home for their loving care given to Rose Patrick over the past several years. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
