Kyman Thomas Grindstaff

Kyman Thomas Grindstaff, 56, Johnson City formerly of Bishop Hollow, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday October 18, 2015 in the Franklin Woods Community Hospital due to complications of diabetes. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Wesley & Lucille Williams Grindstaff. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents: Claude & Daisy Grindstaff and Thomas & Eliza Williams. He was a carpenter and concrete worker by trade.
He is survived by three children: Clayton Grindstaff, Old Hickory, TN; Sharon Duckett, Charlotte, North Carolina and Emaleth Grindstaff of Elizabethton; three sisters, all of Elizabethton: Ramona (Ted) Taylor; Glenda (Dewey) Oliver and Daisy Grindstaff; and two grandchildren: Landen Duckett and Kaitlyn Duckett.
Graveside Services will be conducted at the Pearl Bowers Cemetery, Blue Springs Road at 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2015 with Mr. Tom Caraway officiating. Burial will follow the service. Music will be provided by Luke & Skyla Gwyn. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday will be: Blake Taylor, Jamie Vines, Clayton Grindstaff, Jeremy Blevins, Troy Blevins, Brian Oliver and Russell Harrison. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery.
