William Dean Shell

William Dean Shell, 63, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Friday, October 23, 2015, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was the son of William Dempsey and Norma Lou Shell, Elizabethton.
Mr. Shell retired from Premier Wire Company in Cleveland, Ohio, as a tow motor operator. He was of the Baptist faith and he loved doing yard work and music.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Shell.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a son, Bill Shell, of West Virginia; a grandson, Billy Shell, Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Troy Christopher Shell, Elizabethton; a friend, Rick Hammitt, Elizabethton; and the mother of his child, Mary Sue Shell, Cleveland, Ohio. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of William Dean Shell will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Tull Oaks officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the funeral service. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, in the Blue Grass Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Active pallbearers will be Teddy Shell and others selected from family and friends. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
