Brenda Sue Kelley, 73, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Hillview Health Center. Brenda was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Jim Manning and Reba Linebaugh Markland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kelley Jr.; one brother, Charles Manning; and her step-father, Carl Markland.
Brenda was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved Elvis.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, John Kelley and wife Starlette, and Wayne Kelley and wife Kim, all of Elizabethton; two daughters, Wendy Watson and husband Mike, Elizabethton, and Amanda Neece and husband John, Murfreesboro; and seven grandchildren, Kash Kelley, Chris Kelley, Brad Kelley, Kianna Watson, Klacie Watson, Austin Kelley and Kaylee Neece. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Brenda Sue Kelley will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Ed Tolley officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, or at the residence at anytime. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 5, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be John Kelley, Wayne Kelley, John Neece, Mike Watson, Chris Kelley, Brad Kelley and Austin Kelley. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 10:15 a.m. Thursday to go in procession.
