Brenton D. Berry, 79, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015, at his residence after a brief illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Hugh and Amanda Richardson Berry.
Mr. Berry served in the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter and retired as a Lieutenant with the Carter County Sheriff’s Department after 18 years of service. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
He loved and cherished his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Wynegar Berry, in May 2014.
He is survived by his sons, Tony Berry and wife Cindy, Johnson City, and Troy Berry, of the home; his grandsons, Todd Berry and wife Candi, Elizabethton, and Travis Berry and wife Brittany, Elizabethton; his granddaughter, Michelle Primeau and husband David, Limestone; his great-grandsons, Brandon, Tyler, Peyton and Nicolas; his great-granddaughter, Azlyn; his sisters, Novella Stines and Carmie Lowe; and a brother, James Berry, Elizabethton.
Funeral services for Brenton D. Berry will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Richard Cain officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family members. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Henegar, Bob Winters, Steve Evans, Mike Lowe and Johnny Stines. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard.
