Lois Marie Babb Persinger

Lois Marie Babb Persinger, 77, of Watauga, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, October 31, 2015, at her residence.
Born September 27, 1938 in Barbourville, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Otis James and Minnie Alberta Lawless Babb. She had lived most of her life in Tennessee.
Lois was a graduate of Jonesboro High School. She retired as a Domiciliary Assistant at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. Prior to that she was a nursing assistant. She served for several years as a Sergeant at Arms for Local AFGE at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
Lois was a member of Roan Street Church of God, Elizabethton, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for several years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Persinger, who died August 18, 1988.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Alan and Dinah Babb, Elizabethton, and Thomas Lee and Carmen Cook, Johnson City; three grandchildren, Amanda LeAnn Estep and husband Ricky, James Allan Babb and wife Ashley, and Sydnee Rebecca Cook; a great-grandson, Clayton James Estep; three brothers, Claude James Babb and wife Lillian and Randall Babb, all of Johnson City, and Roger Babb and wife Joy Dean, Elizabethton; and a sister, Brenda Decker, Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services for Shirley Dugger Williams will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Ken Bewley officiating. Music will be provided by Carmon Cook. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at noon Tuesday, will be Richard Babb, Tom Cook, Randall Babb, Brian Decker, James Babb, Ricky Estep and Kevin Stout. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family and employees of the Domiciliary at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Caris Health Care, Dr. K. Krishnan and Dr. Kim Pratt, Nurse Practitioner. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at noon Tuesday to go to the cemetery. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence.
