Mark Deal

Mark Deal, 62, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Elizabethton, Tenn., to the late Hal Deal and Elizabeth Ann Webb Deal.
Mr. Deal was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. He was owner of Watauga River Woodworking and was a very talented craftsman. He also enjoyed organic gardening, and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and family.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Deal, of the home; three daughters, Brandy Moon, Ashley Smith and her husband Jeremy, and Jennifer Franich and her husband Bryce; two children by marriage, Allyson Miller and her husband Isreal, and Captain Brett Honeycutt, U.S. Army Active, and his wife Corrina; four grandchildren, Logan Moon, Bella Smith, Justis Smith and Aydan Miller; three brothers, Mike Deal, Doug Deal and Bruce Deal; two sisters, Mitzi Ward and her husband Bob, and Beth Deal; a very special cousin, David and Nancy Deal; a special friend, Valerie Ennis; and several nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a wealth of great friends whom he loved dearly, and was dearly loved by them.
The Gathering of Remembrance service to celebrate the life of Mark Deal will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton, with Rev. Raymond Amos Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, and at the home at other times. It was Mr. Deal’s wish that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. The family kindly requests no flowers be sent.
