Jeffery Andrew Caldwell, 51, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at his residence. Jeff was born in Carter County on April 1, 1964 to Linda Shoun, of Elizabethton. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Andy and Ethel Shoun, and his uncle, Roger Shoun.
Jeff was a former employee of P.S.G. in Elizabethton and was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. He loved his family, his church and his church family. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and driving his car and he enjoyed his pets.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Linda Shoun; his daughter, Amber Lash and husband Chris, Elizabethton; his son, Matthew Caldwell and wife Mary, Knoxville; his step-father, Chad Ellis; his sister, Traci Blackburn and husband David, Elizabethton; an aunt and uncle, Sherry and Wayne Clemons, Elizabethton; his grandchildren, Joseph Caldwell Sanchez, Faith Lash, Bradley Lash, Justice Lash, Mya Caldwell, Maddie Caldwell and Obie Caldwell; his brothers, Colt, Rubbin, Carter, Mike and Nick Caldwell; his sisters, Tammy and Connie Caldwell; and his cousins, Pamela Oakes and Patti Shoun.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Jeffery Andrew Caldwell will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, at Poplar Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Wright officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Edwin Taylor and Sandy Gass. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, or at the residence of his sister, Traci, at 139 Howard Court in Elizabethton. The graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, November 19, in the Shoun Cemetery on Stoney Creek. Active pallbearers will be Denny Grindstaff, Wayne Clemons, Rondall Lowe, Jerry Hyder, Chris Lash, Glen Tank Morrell, Gary Morrell and Glen Maney. Honorary pallbearers will be his church family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Poplar Grove Baptist Church, Elizabethton, at 2:15 p.m. Thursday to go in procession. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to Poplar Grove Baptist Church, 2829 TN-91, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
