Nola Shell Meredith

Mrs. Nola Shell Meredith, 97, of Johnson City, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015, at Christian Care Center of Johnson City.
Mrs. Meredith was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Ollie and Nellie Humphrey Shell.
Mrs. Meredith was a graduate of Mary Hughes High School and Johnson City Business College. She retired from the American Bemberg Rayon Corporation as a senior clerk. She was a member of New Hope Christian Church.
Mrs. Meredith had lived all her life in Watauga before moving to Johnson City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry B. Meredith; one brother, Ollie E. Shell Jr.; one sister, Ruth Shell Curd; two brothers-in-law, Roy D. Curd and John R. Carr; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Stevens Shell; one niece, Judy D. Curd; and two nephews, Kris Curd and MSG Jefferson D. Davis.
Survivors include one loving sister and caregiver, Dean Shell Carr; one sister-in-law, Sandra Hoss Shell; also surviving “DoeDoe” are four special nephews, Don R. Curd, and his wife Jackie, Rudy L. Curd, and his wife Theresa, Steven W. Shell, and his wife JoAnn, and Bob Carr, and his wife Linda; one special niece, Linda Curd Davis, and her husband Lon; a very special great-nephew, Bobby D. Carr, and his friend, Liz Bishop; two step-sons, Ronnie and Neal Meredith; one step-daughter, Gayle Greene, and her husband Mike; and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was such as wonderful lady who set an example for each of us to use as a guide to live by in our daily lives.
The family of Nola Shell Meredith will receive friends from noon until 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 19, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be selected from nephews. Family and friends will proceed to Monte Vista Memorial Park immediately following the visitation for graveside services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hope Christian Church, 4527 Bristol Highway, Johnson City, TN 37601.
