Betty Ann Dempsey

Betty Ann Dempsey, 75, 213 South Hills Drive, Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, November 29, 2015, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Addie Mae Pembelton Stanley. She had lived a number of years in Elizabethton.
Betty was employed as a mail clerk at Carter County Memorial Hospital for several years. She was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. Betty loved her church and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Freeman, and two brothers, Billy Joe Stanley and Charles Stanley.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Gene Dempsey and Brenda Crosswhite, Erwin, and Ronald Lynn Dempsey and Patsy L. Morrell, Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Ashley Norris and Tosha Morrell; two great-grandchildren, Damien Norris and Justin Thomas; a sister, Peggy Fender, Johnson City; a brother, John Stanley; and several nieces and nephews, including a very special nephew, Terry Freeman.
Funeral services for Ms. Dempsey will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Davis and the Rev. Gary Barnett officiating. Music will be provided by Jeff Davis. The graveside service and interment will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of ICU Sycamore Shoals Hospital and her caregivers at home.
