Ella Mae Ritchie Hardin

Ella Mae Ritchie Hardin, 84, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late James and Hazel Cole Ritchie.
Ella Mae was a 1949 graduate of Unaka High School and a retired employee of the Raytheon Corporation, Bristol. She was an active member of Carter Christian Church, having served in various committees in the church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Wayne Ritchie, and a sister, Charlotte Davidson.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Lawrence Hardin; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Larry Estep, Elizabethton; a son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Karla Hardin, Fairhope, Ala.; four granddaughters, Beth Bare and husband Daniel, Hollie Shah and husband Sam, Audrey Hardin and Abigail Hardin; four great-grandchildren, Kendall and Kacie Bare and Carson and Ava Shah; and a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Don Myers, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hardin will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 3, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Tom Caraway, minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. James Shipley. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
