From a local family of self-starters comes the new downtown business — Vaughn’s Liquidations.
“We are family-owned and -operated, and born from a family of business entrepreneurs,” said owner Brian Vaughn.
He was a photographer with Coleman’s Studio for 30 years, and trained his daughter, Brianna Broyles, as well.
Now, the duo manage the store together, but they aren’t the only business owners in the family.
Broyles’ husband owns Phatboy Landscaping, and her sister owns Whimsical and Witty. Being closely knit in the community gives them an advantage on knowing people’s interests.
“People can shop here to get the name brands that they are familiar with at a price they can afford,” said Vaughn.
He offers liquidated, closeout and overstock items from Target, Walmart, J.C. Penney’s and other well-known stores.
“We feature new items each week and post many of them on our Facebook page,” said Broyles.
Some of the brands they carry include Coleman, Mr. Coffee, Hartz, Bull Frog, Corelle, Oneida, Monster High, Fisher Price, Tonka and many others.
“Many people stop here before going to Walmart to see if we have what they’re looking for, because it will be 50 percent off or cheaper,” said Vaughn.
His stock includes home decor, gardening supplies, camping gear, pet items, toys, school supplies, cooking items, small appliances, sports gear, hygiene products and more.
“Our products are great ideas for Christmas gifts, because we have the same items that people will find at Walmart, for a better price from a local business,” said Vaughn.
Almost every product is checked by Vaughn’s employees before it reaches the shelf, and he said they will gladly open any item for customers with questions.
“We guarantee every product and have something for everyone,” said Vaughn.
The store is located at 428 E. E St. beside H&S Hunting, near City Market. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, though they will be open later to accommodate holiday shoppers.
