Playing on inflatables and enjoying cookies and milk with Santa Claus is one festive way that children can spend the first day of winter break.
Elizabethton Parks and Recreation and the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library are hosting ‘Storytime With Santa’ on Friday, Dec. 18, from 1-5 p.m. in the Recreation Center located at 300 W. Mill St.
Santa will read a story, and children will have the opportunity to tell him their wishes. Everyone — especially Santa — will enjoy eating cookies and milk after playing hard on the inflatables.
“I hope kids come out and enjoy the day and getting to meet Santa,” said Administrative Assistant and event organizer Kelly Kitchens.
The event is free, and parents will have opportunities to take photos of their children on Santa’s lap.
This is the first Storytime with Santa in Elizabethton, and Parks and Recreation Director Mike Mains said he thinks it will give families a unique way to celebrate the holidays.
