Nancy Phillips Collins

Nancy Phillips Collins, 76, of Kingsport, entered the eternal City of God, Monday, December 14, 2015, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born August 12, 1939 in Elizabethton, Tenn., to the late Clyde and Viola Phillips.
Nancy was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, a spirit-filled giver, a prayer warrior and a woman of great faith. She was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church where she was active in the Senior Adult Ministry and enjoyed singing in the Senior Adult Choir. Nancy loved to share the Gospel and faithfully supported Gideon’s International for many years. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and she cherished the times she was able to travel with her son, Dr. Roc Collins, on his evangelistic preaching endeavors.
Nancy was a 1957 graduate of Elizabethton High School and graduated from East Tennessee Baptist School of Nursing in 1960 as an R.N.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Roy O. Collins Jr., and her daughter, Nancy Collins Eastridge.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Dr. Roy O. (Roc) Collins III and wife Jeralyn; grandsons, Roy O. (Ro) Collins IV, Noah Everett Collins and Ben Phillips; granddaughter, Hannah Phillips O’Hamill and husband Rick; son-in-law, Mike Eastridge; and sisters, Linda Wright and husband Glen, Janet Jamison and husband Norman.
The family will receive friends to share memories from 5 to-6:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, at Indian Springs Baptist Church, 325 Hill Road, Kingsport, Tenn. 37664. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7 p.m. with her son, Dr. Roc Collins III, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mike Morgan and the Indian Springs Baptist Church Choir and Orchestra.
A family graveside service will be held at a later date at Happy Valley Memorial Park, Elizabethton, Tenn. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Indian Springs Baptist Church, 325 Hill Road, Kingsport, TenN.
