Callie Cleo Marlowe

Callie Cleo Marlowe, 77, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Roan Highlands Nursing Center. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late David Edward and Etta Hicks Johnson.
Ms. Marlowe was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Kaye Cole, Helen Oaks and Sylvia Clawson, and three brothers, James Johnson, Ernest Johnson and John Johnson.
Survivors include two sons, William Marlowe and Eddie Marlowe, both of Roan Mountain, Tenn.; three grandchildren, T.J. Blevins, Cody Marlowe and wife Johnna and Elizabeth Marlowe, all of Roan Mountain; two great-grandchildren, Lexie Ann Blevins and Ashton John Blevins; and four sisters, Bertha Cole, Judy Philyaw, Kathleen Clawson and Suzanne Thomas. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Callie Cleo Marlowe will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 20, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Roan Mountain, with Rev. Gary Whitehead officiating. The family will receive friends at the Rhododendron Chapel from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday, prior to the funeral service, or at the residence of a son, 118 W.B. Mitchell Road, Roan Mountain, at other times. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Isaacs Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
