Bessie Leona Boling

Bessie Leona Boling, 77, of the Powder Branch Community of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 20, 2015, from her residence. Leona was born in Carter County on November 25, 1938 to the late J.L. Wagner and Lillie Belle Greer Wagner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Wagner and Gordon Wagner.
Leona was a homemaker and was a charter member of Prayer Tabernacle. She was also the Vice President of the Women’s Auxiliary and was a very faithful member. She enjoyed caring for her family and will be missed by all that knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 59 years, Forrest Boling, of the home; her daughter, Tena Hensley and husband Ron, of Elizabethton; a grandson, Eric Hensley and wife Amanda, of Elizabethton; two brothers, Murrell Wagner and wife Geraldine, and Darrell Wagner and wife Linda, all of Elizabethton; three sisters, Della Barnett, of Johnson City, Thelma Harwood, of Elizabethton, and Marie Boswell, of Ohio; two special nieces, Brandy Bowers and Megan Bowers, both of Elizabethton; a special nephew, Sam Bowers, of Elizabethton, and several other nieces and nephews also survive. Also surviving are three brothers-in-law, Cleatis Boling and wife Marion, Lester Boling and wife Pat, and Lynn Boling.
A celebration of life service for Mrs. Bessie Leona Boling will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 26, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Kenneth Davis and Rev. Kenny Lethcoe officiating. A eulogy will be provided by her brother, Mr. Darrell Wagner. Music will be provided by Mrs. Brandy Bowers and Mrs. Kathy Lethcoe. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow in the Sunrise Cemetery in Bluff City with Bishop Richard Hilton officiating. Active pallbearers will be Allen Boling, Dwight Stiltner, Matt Hensley, Sam Bowers, David Bowers, Gary Harwood, Weston Colbaugh and Brian Boling. Honorary pallbearers will be Sue Stiltner, Charlie and Trevia Jones, Kenny and Kathy Lethcoe, Melissa and David Bryant, Calvary Church Small Group and Calvary Church Accountability Group.
