Mrs. Linda Gayle Guinn, 68, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015, at Roan Highlands Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Dula Hardin and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wayne Guinn, in 2013, and three brothers, Larry Hardin, Tommy Hardin and Roger Hardin.
Mrs. Guinn was of the Christian Faith. She was retired from Pine Ridge Care and Rehab Center where she had worked for 27 years in Dietary Services. She loved to travel to Myrtle Beach with her sister-in-law, Bernice Rowland.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Peggy Lyons, Roan Mountain; a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Randy Carver, Elizabethton; four grandchildren Cody Lyons, Roan Mountain, Candace Calderon, Matthew Waldrop and Ethen Carver, all of Elizabethton; two step-grandchildren, Natasha Kyker, Jonesborough, and Emilee Carver, Elizabethton; three great-grandchildren, Khloe Calderon and Kyra Calderon, both of Elizabethton, and Mason Kyker, Jonesborough. Two brothers, Scotty Hardin, Elizabethton, and David Dula, Hampton, also survive.
A graveside service for Mrs. Guinn will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tenn., with Preacher Ricky Lyons officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Lyons, Gregory Calderon, Matthew Waldrop and Ethen Carver. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet the family at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday. The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to Roan Highlands Nursing Center for the love and care shown both to Mrs. Guinn and the family during her time there.
